Emily Moneymaker, RA | Associate
Thorough. Organized. Communicative. Tech-Savvy.
“The end user is really what brings a building to life.”
Emily Moneymaker is an architectural designer with a passion for school design. With projects ranging in scale from early learning centers to college facilities, her work is informed by both the personal experience she seeks from the teachers in her family and from post-occupancy input she requests from clients, colleagues, and end users. With her strong graphic skills, Emily is a proponent of technology to help clients and stakeholders envision their spaces, using the Adobe Creative Suite to create graphically organized space plans, and Sketchup for early massing studies and to explore options for finishes.
“Schematic design is my favorite phase of design because I get to focus on space planning — laying out spaces in a building and graphically showing the efficiencies and adjacencies of the owner’s and occupant’s space. My next favorite phase is construction documents because I can pour into the fine details.”
Emily is a skilled communicator who can effectively describe her ideas and concepts to a variety of audiences — from clients and user groups to agency staff, subconsultants, architects, and contractors. She takes a practical approach to her work, ensuring that design decisions are supported by sound rationale. Because of her organized and detail-oriented nature, Emily successfully manages the competing priorities and concurrent deadlines inherent in architecture.
