Learn More About Atika

 Atika Jain, RA

Intentional. Self-directed. Inspiring. Adaptable.

“In the architecture profession, there’s no point where you stop learning.”

Atika Jain joins KMB with 10 years of architectural design experience, including six years practicing as a licensed architect in India where she contributed to hospitality projects and the notable Franco-German Embassy in Dhaka, Bangladesh . The master’s in architecture program at Clemson University brought Atika to the United States where she researched cross laminated timber (CLT) during her master’s program, with her final thesis focusing on a CLT project.

“The human connection – the people – is the most important aspect of architecture. Every space that you create evokes a feeling or provides an experience for someone else, so being sensitive to that is what you’re trained to do as an architect. If we succeed in creating a space where somebody feels at home or enjoys themselves, then we’ve achieved half of the goal.”

Intentionality and impeccable execution set Atika’s design work apart. With the rare ability to easily move from being led by others to playing a leadership role and inspiring the team to collaborate, Atika is a well-rounded designer who brings an uncommon level of thoroughness to her work. Particularly adept at preparing construction documents, Atika continually looks for new challenges to continue growing and evolving in her practice.

Through her years of practice in India and the U.S., Atika discovered that she truly enjoys every project type. This makes her a great addition at KMB because she moves between studios to put her skills to use where they are most needed. She’s contributed her expertise to projects in the Tribal and Justice studios, and she discovered a fondness for building and zoning codes because of the objective direction that it provides.
